where is my mind?

So, after a mistake I made this past Monday night i found myself feeling a mix of unsettling emotions. This mistake was one I have repeatedly made over the past year and usually have found myself blaming myself only, or feeling full or regret afterwards. This time was different though. Without going into detail, I was not happy at all on Tuesday. Despite this, I found myself realizing that this was not all my doings and that mistakes like these are a part of life and with all the great things going on in my life I have no time to waste with regret. In other words.. shit happens. Life does not come with a rewind button. No longer am i going to over analyze this on-going mess. I will never understand you completely and I really don't care to try and figure it all out anymore. From now on it's all about that positive thinking.

On with the good stuff. Thursday night I went to Phish with Caitlin, Becca, Johnny and also met up with Tim and many other friends. It was one of the best nights of my summer so far to say the least. The parking lot was full of good people and good times and the set list was amazing.
Set One: David Bowie, Stealing Time From the Faulty Plan (I guessed this as opener, so close! One of my favorites for sure.), Water in the Sky, Ocelot, Uncle Pen, Boogie on Reggae Woman, Gumbo, Timber (Jerry), I Didn't Know, Birds of a Feather, Bouncing Around the Room, Reba, The Rover (Led Zeppelin cover- first time played)
Set Two: Down with the Disease, Crosseyed and Painless, Nothing, Twenty Years Later, Harry Hood, Fluffhead, Julius, You Enjoy Myself.
Encore: Bug.
A mind-blowing show to say the least. By the end of second set I was dead. Most people were ready for round 2 on Friday but my little body could notttt handle it, ha ha. I personally think the setlist was better on Thursday anyways, besides maybe the full band Billy Jean and Thriller teases in honor of the late Michael Jackson. RIP MJ! I filled up two disposable cameras with pictures, so I'll be sure to post them soon so you can get a better idea of the fun we all had. Everyone must experience a Phish show at least once in their life!

Anyways, Friday was my day of recovery. As i lounged on my couch watching TV and movies I took a quick look into my email and was pleasantly surprised. I mentioned a couple entries back that I might have some good news coming soon and here it is- I am now officially part of the Red Bull Philly Wiiings Team. Scheduled to start on July 15th, I finally get to ditch my office job at Faulkner Cadillac (need I say more?). Although the pay has not been bad, sitting in this office makes my blood run cold! Such a boring, routine job and I am finally going to be FREE! So right now.. life is good. And with all this upcoming excitement in my life, I promise to quit neglecting this blog and post way more. Ciao Bellas.

only 55 days until i get to experience this..
all good music festival in Masontown, West Virginia. road tripping there with only the best - becca, ang, shannon, their men and i'm sure a few others. im a lucky girl. i'm trying to go to dr.dog with deer tick tonight but no one is down hmphhh. one of the random things i miss about having a boyfriend - having someone to always go to shows with, haha. i don't know if i posted about it, but i got to see them for free at world cafe live for xpn's free fridays not too long ago, so i can't really complain. their going to be at all good also, but they are honestly that great live that i really want to go tonight, too! we'll see what happens but until then..... i'm off to work.

summer skin

hellooooo. this past week has had beautiful weather and it couldn't make me more happy. i have so many photos to share but unfortunately that will have to be postponed until my iphoto decides to work or i figure out how to fix it! a lot from the gay rights counter protest against westboro baptist church, if you haven't heard about westboro and their beliefs led by fred phelps, it is definitely worth checking out. you can see thier website here, the title (god hates fags) pretty much sums it all up. they didn't show up to their own protest (against the production of Rent at Temple for its homosexual content) but 1000+ Temple students against them did, it ended up being a good time. the next day me and some friends had a barbeque in our 1940 courtyard; had the hammock set up outside, grilled, painted, and enjoyed the weather. grilled pineapple has now become a favorite summer food of mine.. sooo good . that night i had a tough choice between two shows, Major Lazer or Easy Star All Stars. definitely was a difficult choice considering my indecisiveness and having to choose between digital reggae and reggae/ska type covers of Radiohead, The Beatles, and Pink Floyd, both equally worth checking out! i ended up choosing the latter, Easy Star. It was a good show and they are absolutely talented and creative - but i found myself wishing i chose Major Lazer. the crowd wasn't the best but it was a good night none the lessss. the rest of the week was spent doing the usual, i managed to get home for easter to see the fam and gather some new art supplies and bring my film camera down.. cannot wait to get in the darkroom again. and on to this week.. the weather definitely does not help my focus skills but the mood it puts me in is worth it. i've been swamped with work and apartment searching but all is good. if everything goes as planned i will have some very, very, very exciting news to share with you soon. wish me luck! xo

ALSO.. i met the two cutest puppies today.. pitbull, rottweiler, german shepard mixes named Calvin and Klein. adorable and only 75$(insane)!! i cant wait any longer to get one of my own.
